PMMA - Acrylic
PMMA or acrylic, is an amorphous thermoplastic. Acrylic is an inherently hard and scratch-resistant material. Usually PMMA is used for a variety of applications to replace glass. The impact strength of PMMA is about 20 times higher than that of glass. In addition, acrylic is extremely clear material, and it has higher light transmission compared to glass. Our material range includes cast and extruded acrylics.
Acrylic can be used in ice hockey arenas, noise barriers, medical devices, and windshields of boats. It can also be used for applications such as display boards to replace glass. PMMA is suitable for thermoforming, and the machined surfaces can be polished. Being highly weather‑resistant, acrylic is also well suited for outdoor applications.
